We at Snap Shot Moms spend a lot of time on ball fields and in gyms. As moms we have come to appreciate just how much time is spent behind the scenes getting our local athletes ready for their big games.
So today, on Mother’s Day we want to say thank you to all the moms out there.

The annual Locust Grove Founder's Day celebration kicks off this weekend. This year's celebration is special as it celebrates the 100th Founder's Day. Changes have been made to the annual line up of events keeping people in town from morning until night.

* The Rodeo, Round Up for Jesus will be Friday and Saturday night beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the Round Up Club Arena west of Locust Grove. Admission is free and several door prizes will be given away nightly.

The Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association has released the brackets for the state baseball tournaments. Salina will begin play in the Class 3A State baseball tournament Thursday when the Wildcats take on Plainview at 4 p.m., Thursday at Edmond Memorial.



Area farmers' markets are kicking off selling goods. Mayes County Farmer's Market is from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Mayes County Courthouse lawn. This past Saturday goods included strawberries, onions, radishes, lettece and many other goods promising Mayes County area raised.

SnapShotMoms congratulates all of the State qualifiers on a great track season. We would also like to send out a special congratulations to Zach Vaughn of Vinita High School. Vaughn was crowned state champion in the Class 4A Boys High Jump with a jump of 6-08. Vaughn is a relative of Kristy Troyer with Snap Shot Moms.

WILDCATS WIN

Salina is State bound after defeating Caney Valley for the Class 3A Regional championship Friday night in Salina. The Wildcats kicked off regionals with a 4-1 win over Nowata. Later Thursday afternoon Salina faced off with Caney Valley for the first time winning 2-1.
In the finals of the Regional tournament, the Wildcats captured their spot in the state tournament with an 8-4 win over Caney Valley.

Pryor ended its baseball season with two losses to Claremore. The Tigers opened regional play with a 9-4 win over Collinsville. It was Claremore who stopped the Tigers in their tracks and ended their season with an 8-2 and 18-6 losses.

The Pryor Tigers and Tigerettes ended their soccer season with losses in the first round of the state playoffs Tuesday night. The Tigers suffered a 6-0 loss to Cascia Hall and the Pryor girls fell to Skiatook 1-0.

Salina, Pryor begin regional play

Salina will host the Classs 3A regional tournament. Games will begin Thursday with Salina taking on Nowata at 11 a.m. The winner will play the Sequoyah/Caney Vallery winner at 3 p.m. The loser will play the Sequoyah/Caney Vallery loser at 5 p.m.


Pryor will travel to Claremore Thursday to face Collinsville at 1 p.m. in the frist round of the regional tournament. The loser will play Claremore at 4 p.m. and the winner will play Claremore at 6:30 p.m.
Games will continue Friday if all teams have one loss after the first day. Collinsville and Pryor will start the day with a 4 p.m. game. The winner will take on Claremore at 6:30 p.m. Saturday has been set aside for a 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. games if needed.

Snap Shot Moms want to wish both Pryor Tiger soccer teams good luck in today's first round of playoffs.

Salina advances to regionals with two wins over Keys

District baseball for Class 2A-4A baseball teams began Thursday and for two Mayes County teams it was the beginning of the end. Adair and Locust Grove ended their seasons with losses in District play. Salina is still alive after defeating Keys 11-1 and 14-1. Chouteau’s score was not reported to Snap Shot Moms.
Post season play will continue with the Salina Wildcats advancing to Regionals this week.
The Pryor soccer teams will also begin their playoffs. Both the Tigerettes and the Tigers play Tuesday. The Tigerettes will travel to Skiatook for a 5 p.m. game and the boys will play at 7:30 p.m. at Cascia Hall.

The Pryor girls finished fifth in the Class 5A girls regional golf tournament in McAlester. The fifth place finish qualifies the Tigerettes for the state golf tournament in Oklahoma City.
Pryor hosted the Pryor Invitational where the team finished ninth and Locust Grove was 19th.
